The site offers a sign up section to receive vouchers for free entry at participating attractions  for National Public Gardens Day, May 10.

Free Entry To Eco-Theme Center

Entry is always free to the  The Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center in Key West, which that showcases the local ecosystems with interactive displays and exhibits.

Among the exhibits is a mock version of the Aquarius ocean laboratory.

The Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center  is  open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Tuesdays through Saturdays, 305-809-4750.

The venue offers  Discovery Saturday programs the third Saturdays of the month,  featuring  free activities for kids.

The Center is run and sponsored by Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, NOAA, the South Florida Water Management District, Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks, the National Wildlife Refuges of the Florida Keys and Eastern National.

programsVarious environmental topics are featured in free programs  offered in Key Largo.

Macroalgae is the featured topic  7 p.m. February 22.

The program, which includes  a meet and greet at 6 p.m., is part of the Ocean Life Lecture Series, presented by The Friends of the Key Largo Cultural Center and  Florida International University School of Environment, Arts and Society at the Government and Cultural Center, mile marker 102,  Key Largo.

Free Pancakes & Pizza February 5

Sliders_FAIn separate deals, participating Pizza Hut and IHOP restaurants are serving free food.

Pizza Hut:  Participating Pizza Hut restaurants are offering Big Pizza Sliders  4 p.m. to 7 p.m. February 5. A Big Pizza Slider is a mini pizza with up to three toppings.

IHOP:  For National Pancake Day, participating  IHOP restaurants offer guests a free short stack of pancakes, while supplies last.  Restaurants are using the promotion to accept donations for specific non-profit organizations.

Free Everglades program in Key Largo

A movie and discussion on The Everglades is featured at 7 p.m. January 18.

The  program on Everglades predators, which is part of the Ocean Life Lecture Series, is presented by The Friends of the Key Largo Cultural Center and  Florida International University School of Environment, Arts and Society at the Government and Cultural Center in Key Largo.

Other free programs are scheduled  February 22, March 15 and April 19, May 17, June 21 and  July 19

The Nautical Flea Market is a free family- friendly event.

The event, which includes music by local and regional performers,  is 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. January 19 and January 20 at the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce, mile marker 31.
