LegolandOn Oct. 15, LEGOLAND Florida is scheduled to open its doors.

Florida teachers can get a free annual pass, valued at $129, to Legoland Florida. To receive the pass, teachers must register online, print out a page with a discount code and take it to Legoland Florida’s ticket window, along with their most recent pay stub, Florida photo ID and teaching certificate.

Legoland field trips and educational programs are scheduled to begin in November and include building machines with gears, pulleys, levers and motors to creating a theme park ride for the study of speed and direction to using “Adventure-bots” with light and sound sensors.

Homemade boats fashioned from household items are the highlight of these free festivities  in Key Largo.

Spectators may enjoy the The Anything That Floats regatta and other free activities, including fireworks.

A race meeting is 7 p.m. August 19 at Senior Frijoles restaurant, mile marker 103.9. The race activties kick off  at 2 p.m. Saturday August 20 and the fireworks are at 9:30 p.m. 

 The race round-trip route is from the Caribbean Club, mile marker 104, to Sundowners, 103900 Overseas Highway, and back.

The race is free for participants and spectators.
