Monday, May 18, is International Museum Day. To mark the occasion, the Key West Art & Historical Society is offering half-price admission to its three Key West museums: Custom House Museum, 281 Front St.; Key West Lighthouse & Keeper’s Quarters Museum, 938 Whitehead St.; and Fort East Martello Museum, 3501 S. Roosevelt Blvd.
If you visit the Custom House at 2 p.m. any Monday, you can hear a free lecture by curator Nance Frank about how folk artist Mario Sanchez’s geopolitical background influenced his work. Sanchez’s work is currently on exhibit.
